*It's their turn and they go onstage and play Please Be Mine with their acoustic guitars. Alex is looking through the crowd for Joe, but he's nowhere to be seen. She sighs and keeps singing and playing. Then they sing This is Me by Demi Lovato, calling in some of their friends for the drums and bass. She wishes Joe was there to sing with her like in Camp Rock, but still... no sign of Joe. The crowd cheers for them and they wrap it up with a personal creation. A power ballad. The song talked about love. The kind of love that lets you know it's there even though it's silent. Alex sings her lungs out. She had written the song herself, thinking of Joe. Just then, she looks up and sees Joe walking through the crowd and sitting next to Kevin in the front row. He looks gloomy. She keeps on singing, now looking at him directly in the eyes. He smiles slightly. She turns away. As Taylor sings, Nick mouths... you're amazing. She smiles and sings with even more soul. She was really into the song. She glances at Nick who is looking at her dreamily. Alex couldn't keep a tear from running down her face while she sang. It doesn't ruin her singing though. She had come all the way to the finals that year and was not willing to lose it for Joe. Now it's time for Hannah. She goes up and sings solo "Too Little Too Late" by JoJo, but her voice cracks when she sees Joe take Alex's hand to talk to her. She gets a little distracted and starts messing up in parts. Finally the song ends and she sings her own song. It had nothing special. She storms offstage* *With Joe and Alex* Joe: you were... great... Alex: *looking down* thanks... Joe: I'm sorry for what I said yesterday... Alex: don't go asking for forgiveness if you know you meant it, Joe... Joe: but... I didn't mean it... I do love you... I have never loved anyone the way I love you... Alex: then why would you say something like that? Why would you hurt me so bad for no reason? Joe: I was scared... I was losing you... I knew we were gonna end up breaking up anyways so I guess I just wanted to push you away... I thought that way you wouldn't miss me... and you would be happy... Alex: I can't be happy without you, Joe... Joe: I can't either... but... do you wanna get back together...? Alex: I don't know, Joe... I never wanted to really break up... it was just like a brain storm... but I really meant what I said... it might not work out I don't think I'll be able to handle it... Joe: well... can we at least be friends again? Alex: yeah... *tries to smile* we've been best friends forever... Joe: *tries to smile too* yeah... ok... uhm... I guess we should go back. They're gonna announce the winners Alex: yeah... *they go back and Joe puts his hands over Alex's shoulders as they walk and sit with everyone else. After other performances of singers and then going to other categories, the school principal announces that the winners for the singing category are Taylor and Alex as Checkpoint. Everyone cheers for them, and once again, Hannah cries and leaves angrily. The school principal hands Taylor and Alex their prizes: a scholarship for the school for next year and two brand new Gibson guitars. They get excited and take their prizes. They thank everyone and then the closing ceremony goes on. They had graduated from the standard level and next season they could go for higher level. After the ceremony, they get together with their parents and stay with them and Nikki and the Jonas. They congratulate them and they stay there for a while talking with their classmates and teachers. Then a man in a suit walks up to them* Man: Excuse me, are you Alexa Martins and Taylor Johnson? Taylor & Alex: yes...? -10 comments
