Part 1 of Wimbledon FC's 1988-89 season review, featuring: 1-5 v Arsenal (h) 2-2 v Luton Town (a) 0-1 v West Ham United (h) 0-1 v Middlesbrough (a) 0-1 v Coventry City (h) Criticism: It's amazing how much football presentation has changed since the late 80s. In those days, live TV coverage was exclusively retained by ITV. They would show the occasional match live during and, at half-time, show a goals round-up. These goals were recorded by sole cameras, much as ITV did with 'The Championship' that maintained their tradition of Football League coverage. Contrast it with the top flight's current trend for 'saturation' coverage of games with multiple camera angles. The commentaries were added "as live" at a later date. From a Wimbledon perspective, a club that often felt it was maligned by the media, it's interesting to note some incidents that have been chosen for inclusion that with other clubs might perhaps not have been.
