Once you defeat Gold in Mt. Moon, come back to Indigo Plateau on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Gold will be there to challenge you. He's got a Sneasel at Level 45, an Alakazam at Level 46, a Magneton at Level 45, a Crobat at Level 48, a Gengar at Level 45, and his starter at Level 50. Sneasel is still weak, and always will be, despite how cool he is. Alakazam is faster then ever, and his Psychic still causes extreme damage. Whoopee. Gold evolved his Golbat. Luckily, it doesn't know Double Team. Magneton is slow and easily felled by Earthquake. Gengar is still suicidial. And Gold's starter is still very strong.

this is the final battle with your rival. after this you will see him every monday and wednesday at the Elite Four's.
Your rival is going through an identity crisis, so help yourself to kicking his ass. It's a really easy fight, the worst thing is his lvl 38 Starter, which is a joke.
