This short-lived Fuji TV teen idol action drama series was the follow up to Fuji's immensely popular "Sukeban Deka" series. While not as popular at that series, "Hana No Asuka Gumi" (Blossoms of the Asuka Gang) shared similar themes. It was adapted from Kataguchi Satosumi's long running manga series "Asuka" which ran between 1985-1995 by Kadokawa Publishing. The drama series was a little bit more fantastical and over-the-top but it was also a fun series. Story: As the introduction reveals, Japan's youth are thrust into a secret civil war. Various factions of girl gangs (Sukebans) are fighting for control over Japan's schools. Amid the resulting chaos the secret all girls' mafia "Zen Chu Rai" (The Absolute) emerges victorious and soon controls nearly all the girls High Schools under its evil banner. Under the silent rule of the mysterious Hibari (Sakura Shiori) and her chief hench woman Kasuka (Honda Risa), they wield power with an iron fist and command a unique armored army of loyal female warriors ("The Ten") whom kill all those who dare oppose them. Yet one lone girl steps forward to destroy their cruel reign. Ater the death of her best friend and classmate, Sachi and her own near death at their hands Kuraku Asuka (Odaka Megumi), vows to stop them. Together with former Sukeban leader Domoto Miko (Ozawa Natsuki) and elite private school student Kazuki Harumi (Ishida Hikari), they form an "Asuka Gumi" (Asuka Gang) to take back the schools and destroy Zen Chu Rai. 23 Theme Song: 「Get a Chance!」
