This property was once fertile farmland but when the local school board tried to eminent domain the the property we had to sell the mineral rights to keep it. This was the original location of the original farm, established in 1855 and later moved up the road to adjoining property. THis was also a dumping ground for a Shawnee village located about a mile east. The gravel company is now reclaiming the property per Ohio law, building 3:1 slopes, collapsing berms and raising the bottom a bit and then establishing a cover crop to prevent erosion. It is our hope to turn this into Hamilton County's first TRUE sustainable agriculture site.
