This dedication is one of a three part series tribute honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Clara Barnes. Due to the size of each part, contained in this tribute; three separate URLs have been generated to dissimilate all three parts of this tribute: Part one includes: "I Have A Dream" (Music by Anthony Hamilton); and "Never Alone" (Music by Marvin Sapp); speeches performed by Christopher Allen. Part two includes: "Justice & Righteousness" (Music by John P. Kee); and "Mountain Top" (Music by Aretha Franklin); speeches performed by Christopher Allen. Part three includes: "The Struggles of a Black Woman" written and performed by Christopher Allen. My mother, Clara Barnes is my biggest supporter in everything I do; she has been the unsung hero in my life, every step of the way. For this reason, this tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is dedicated to my mother, Clara Lee Barnes, honoring her for all her sacrifices, lifelong struggles, and undying support to her family. Following a hard life of labor of picking cotton; as well as, serving as a cook in the homes of plantation owners, in the rural Northwestern Mississippi Delta. In April 2007, my mother had a stroke, at the age of 71 that rendered her partially paralyzed with paralysis on the left side of her body. In August 2007, a day following her 72nd birthday, she was prep for an emergency surgery to remove her appendix. It was reported that during her hospitalization earlier that year, due to her stroke and during her appendectomy, that she had Stage IV Liver Cancer, as well; which she began "radiation only" treatments in Nov/Dec 2007. The year of 2007 was a year of trial for my mother and our family, but God saw beyond our fears and blessed us as a resolve of all the hope, faith, and prayers of our family, friends, and church families. Following my mothers radiation treatments, which concluded in the first quarter of 2008, God blessed her, by allowing her liver cancer to go into remission. To God be the glory for all His goodness and grace bestowed upon my family with the blessings of our mothers existence today; for this reason, I dedicate this tribute to honor Clara Lee Barnes.
