An Anishinaabeg produced documentary of the 2008 Living Treaties Conference / Assertion held in Sault Ste. Marie (both Michigan and Ontario) during August of 2008. The documentary explores the Anishinaabeg perspective of US/Canadian treaty interpretations. The documentary follows the Anishinaabeg as they cross the US/Canadian border without going through customs to assert their treaty rights. US Homeland Security and Ontario Provincial Police are on hand to witness this historical event of treaty assertion. Both an Anishinaaabek Academic and cultural perspectives are documented in this ground breaking documentary that will inspire all indigenous and non- native people to this modern day struggle of Anishinaabek people in their plight to assert their rights in modern times.
