Coming on the heels of the hugely popular 80s "Deka" series "Abunai Deka" came this short-lived but entertaining police drama/comedy "Aitsu Wa Trouble". The stars of the series were pop idol Minamino Yoko (coming off of her series "Sukeban Deka") and teen heart-trob Oda Yuji (before he went on to star in his own smash detective series "Odoru Daisousasen" AKA Bayside City Shakedown) and the J-Dorama "Tokyo Love Story". The series shared much with "Abunai Deka" incorporating tongue-in-cheek comedy with hard-boiled crime drama and action. While the title "Aitsu Wa Trouble/She's Trouble" was mainly referring to Minamino Yoko's character, it could also very well apply to her teammates as well as her boss (played by the great character actor Akita Jyunichi) who also had a habit of getting in over his head. My favorite aspect of the series was the great OP theme song "Shout" by Picasso which seemed to really fit the show. Kubota Toshinobu's ending theme "Moving Target" was also pretty good (although I hated the rap part). It's too bad the series only lasted 15 episodes as I think it was just as good as "Abunai Deka". Story: Misaki Reiko may not be the best detective over at the Missing Persons Division of the Tokyo Harbor Patrol but what she lacks in skills she more than makes up with her determination, earnest resolve and Olympic level sharpshooting abilities. Her colleagues, which include hot-blooded detective Jyono Go and former undercover cop Torada Takeshi, think she's nothing but trouble (hence the title) and don't take her very seriously. Reiko however is determined to show them and her bosses Akita Jyunichi and Kaneko Tetsuo that she is a first-rate detective.
