I introduce myself to YouTube and ask a question to fellow gamers. The reason why I use (and might continue to use Xtranormal is because: 1) I haven't figured out how to record my own voice to use and put in a movie. And I haven't found my microphone yet; I don't have a web cam. :/ 2) Trying to communicate through a different medium. I'm more used to drawing--and even that sucks. I had no idea David Spates had his account suspended, so I'm linking his friend's page to get to colabs that he and his friend John Ollie have done until he's no longer suspended: http://www.youtube.com/user/johnollie AVGN's page: http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd For anyone who couldn't quite understand the computer voice, I've got it all here in a nutshell; it's what I've meant to say, and many parts won't be said in the movie. ------------------------ Hey, YouTube. You can call me Dink. This is my first video upload and the first time I've used Xtranormal (so be patient with me); rather than just say that (like the people who'd upload something to say a small hi), I wanted to discuss a topic in the gaming community. I'm not sure just how big of a topic it is, but I wanted to touch on it nonetheless. If you don't wanna hear it, click on something else. I've been a gamer since 5, and I'm 20 now. I've, along with others, have seen a lot of cool technological advancements over the past 10-15 years. It's pretty great to know we've come a long way from bleeps and bloops to animated facial expressions and fully orchestrated scores. (Although, I will admit, I wasn't around for things like Tennis For Two and the Odyssey; I'm 20, what do you want from me?! :P). I think this is something that was bound to come up, and I've been noticing a lot of gamers, particularly the younger generations and some small bit of the older generations that tend to worship just graphics and graphics only. Now, don't get me wrong! It's cool we're able to have movie-quality cutscenes and the like. I've got the feeling that a lot of upcoming film makers are looking at games like Silent Hill 2 (I should have mentioned that in the movie) and God of War as well as a number of different gamers to figure out how they'll integrate it into their works. But many complaints that I hear is "OMG NOT NUFF REALISTIC GRAPHIX GAME SUCKS", and this is particularly from the younger kids (I hear this from a small handful of adults as well). It's almost as though they forget the other elements such as gameplay and re-playability that make a game great! However, it's good to see that some of the younger gamers know their roots; and it surprises me a lil' to see a wee one talk about how hard the early Mario games are. as well as the ones who can explain their opinions with some evidence to support them. Sooo...what do you think, my fellow YouTube gamers? Leave your comments in the section below. Yeah, I know games are just that--games. But once you know a hobby enough to indulge and appreciate it, don'cha just think about stuff like this every now and then? ----------------------------------------- Any comments about the audio will be thrown out. It's Xtranormal, not much I can do about that. :D I eat trolls. I don't really care about grammar, but just make sure I can understand it.
