The purpose of this video was to try and replicate the guitar tone used for the solo another brick in the wall part II by Pink Floyd on the 1979 album The Wall. The guitar was plugged into a BOSS GT-10 effects processor however, I'm only using a compressor effect and basic preamp effect for the purpose of sustaining the long huge bends. Many videos on youtube incorporate distortion and delay which was not used during the original recording. Based on an interview with Dave Gilmour he stated that he used a Les Paul plugged directly into a board with compression, which was played back through an amp and rerecorded. Without the compressor the long bends fade too much. Most of the solo is based on the original score with the exception of the end where I just improvised along the original lines. The solo was recorded using cubase where I used a standard midi backing track played through general midi using an XV5080. I mixed down the midi track and audio track through an external rack compressor before publishing. Comments appreciated.
