This is a flight from Long Beach to Camarillo, California. Since the two airports are further than 50 nautical miles away, the flight is considered to be a cross country flight. This is only part one of the video, the flight back from Camarillo to Long Beach will be posted in a day or two. The flight itself was VFR and since I've been flying under the hood for the best part of the last few months, it was very nice to be able to take those foggles off for a few hours and enjoy a beautiful Southern California day. As anytime when flying in the Los Angeles area, there will always be world famous landmarks and places you will overfly (I noted just a few of them). The day was just amazing and the video cameras really don't capture the whole majesty of the Southern California scenery, but the two girls did a fantastic job of filming. Thank you to all Southern Cali ATC's especially the new eager trainee at Long Beach airport, and the awesome lady ATC at Camarillo who had 4 planes in a pattern, many approaching and departing, and only one runway to do it with. One word: WOW
