When I was about 11 or 12, me and my sister (two years younger) stumbled upon an old 80s movie at the MGM channel. The movie was called Flowers in the Attic. By the time the movie reached its end, I was stunned and amazed. This was true shocker. How can any parent do such a thing to its brood? For the rest of the day, because of the movie, I couldnt see my mother or my father in the same loving eye as I did before because I was doubtful. I didnt hold any kind of trust to them. What if my mother was actually, behind her sugary and gentle surface, as evil as the woman named Corrine in the movie? Hopefully, this lasted for only one day and the next day I was healed from those thoughts of distrust and mistrust. Flowers in the Attic, until this day, has been one my favorite shocker movies. I read on the Internet that many, many people hated the movie because it wasnt at all like the book it was based upon. I said to my self That movie was bad? How can this be? Incidentally, I discovered one of my aunts had copies of Flowers in the Attic and If There Be Thorns. Borrowing it from her, I read it and indeed, I found the book more amusing than the movie (but still I loved the movie). Both book and film adaptation are now some of my favorites out of my 15 years of age, and now that I heard Andrew Neiderman has written the screenplay for a second and more faithful- adaptation and is waiting for the green light of MGM, I couldnt be more exited! In the meantime, I decided to make a FAN trailer of the remake. I spent 16 of July collecting material (clips from various movies) and gathering ideas, on 17 I made the trailer and on 18-19 I made some corrections. I hope you like it. About the actors/actresses selected for the roles of the Dresden Dolls I dont actually favor the actors/actresses presented in the trailer (I basically desire unknowns for the roles of the Dollanganger children in the remake, not the so-called teeny-boppers) but since I couldnt find justifying clips other than the actors/actresses shown in the trailer, please dont get angry. I know that today that some of those actors/actresses are too old for the parts I gave them in the trailer, I didnt have a second chance. However, they look the right age in the trailer because I used material from movies in which they were younger at the time. * My material: clips from the movies: - The Others (2001) Rebecca (1997 TV Movie) Newcastle (2008) Taken (TV series) Across the Universe (2007) The Mist (2007) Venus (2006) Music used: The marvelous Home Sweet Home theme by Marco Beltrami for the music score of Scream 3. Towards the end it switches to the poignant title theme from Psycho II by Jerry Goldsmith. I also want to thank the following Youtube users for providing me video material material without knowing it! (If you want I can post the link for those vids): Noreeley for The Music Box, Ballettfan for Ballerina practicing routine and Vodeotv for Ballerina * I wish I could have made my trailer better using narration and using clips of actually unknown talented actors for the Dollanganger children, as I hope for the remake to have unknowns. Here is my preference cast for the Dollanganger Series. The Grandmother Kathleen Turner or Diana Rigg Corrine Foxworth Nicole Kidman or Naomi Watts John Amos Christopher Lee or Terence Stamp The Grandfather Peter OToole or Christopher Plummer or Michael Caine Cathy (adult) Naomi Watts Christopher Jr. (aged 54) Michael Biehn Dr. Paul Sheffield Michael Douglas Jory (adult) Hugh Dancy Bart Jr. (adult) Rick Hearst Joel Foxworth (old) Ian McKellen or Donald Sutherland Madame Marisha Vanessa Redgrave (shes experienced in ballet) Mrs. Bertha Simpson (bit part) Vera Miles
