On August 14th 2008, RBD announced through a press release that they would disband in 2009. "To all our fans and media around the world: Together we have made a dream come true and this dream could never be achieved if we hadnt had the our fans suport and love.. We have left an indelible mark on the lives of millions of people ... Our beloved fans! You have marked our lives in a way unparalleled, you will stay at the bottom of our hearts forever. Every great project needs to be transformed and today we are beginning this process. Our upcoming concerts offer 21, 23 t August 25 in Madrid, Barcelona and Santiago de Compostela, marked the beginning of this final stage. For now, the next shows are confirmed in Serbia, Slovenia, Romania, Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, a very special concert in Los Angeles CA, and of course our beloved Mexico. We hope to join, soon, with our beloved fans in each of our shows and feel the magic that has accompanied us during these four years. By: Alfonso, Any, Christian, Christopher, Dulce María and Maite." The group's manager, Pedro Damian, stated that, although there weren't any fights among the members, it was decided that the best of them would be to disband because they want to begin and achieve new things in their career as solo artists from now on. Alfonso and Maite were occupied with their TV projects (Maite as the protagonist of Cuidado con el ángel and Poncho with TV Series Terminales.), while Christian was in the middle of a tour with the musical Avenue Q's Mexican stage production. Anahi manages her own clothing store in Mexico City and has begun an organization to help those who have eating disorders. Dulce was involved with the shooting of a movie and a variety of projects such as dubbing a cartoon character in a Mexican motion picture, while Christopher has said he plans to build a career as drummer and musical productor. On November 25th, RBD released Best Of RBD (in Brazil: Hits Em Português and in U.S.: Greatest Hits) a CD/DVD featuring their singles (with the exception of Y No Puedo Olvidarte) and a DVD with music videos, as part of their goodbye.A portuguese version of the album was also released. It has been stated that the final studio album will be released on February of 2009, following a tour of over 15concerts troughout Latin America, finishing the group's live career. The band wished to have a last concert in Mexico since everything began there, therefore they wanted to end there. Sadly, the last concert was Held in Madrid Para Olvidarte De Mi Para Olvidarte De Mi is slated to be RBD's fifth and final album. It contains unprecedented songs. It would be released in March 10, 2009. Although RBD said they wouldnt do any promotion to it, there is a rumor there could be a short tour to promote the cd. "Para Olvidarte de Mi" is said to be the first single from the album and will premiere on radioplay as early as January 2009. Para Olvidarte De Mi last album from RBD, the equipment would record the sale in March and marked the end of the successful pop band, after 4 years of career. In addition to editing the material, there are rumors that the group would make a small promotional tour and would plan dismissed entirely on the stage with a massive concert in Mexico City. Reportedly the first single from this album will be to forget about me, which might sound very soon on the radio:"Para Olvidarte de Mi" will be the first single from the album and will be released to the radio on January 2009. It has been mentioned that towards the end of February, RBD will reunite for the last time before the press to present their last album. The First Single From the album, "Para Olvidarte de Mi", was released to the web on January 26, 2009.
