The Rise And Fall Of WCW Overall: 8/10 (Watch the video for explanation) Documentary Portion: Everyone knows that it is misleading, not the real story, missing too much information, too careful, etc, etc. Really what did u expect from the DVD? I think people had too high hopes after The Rise And Fall of ECW (possibly the best WWE documentary of all time) and they thought that this would be the same. The WWE didn't want to burn any of their bridges with Hogan, Dusty, Warrior (for some strange reason) and others. On the ECW DVD they had really no bridges to burn because....(watch vid for reason). This documentary is still insightful in the stuff on the Jim Crocket Promotions and the NWA. I already know the full story of what happened in WCW through the books i have read on it (see vid for books). This vid was as good as I thought it would be and i was fully satisfied with it. Matches Portion: Some were really good, but some REALLY did not need to be on here. It seemed as if they treated the matches portion as "the best of wcw and matches relevant to their downfall (not necessarilly bad matches)" it should have just been "the best of WCW". I felt they could have put on way more matches from 91-94. That is the earliest period of WCW, some say the most boring, but there's still some AWESOME stuff there. Matches NWA World Championship Wrestling $1,000 Challenge Match Ric Flair vs. Magnum T.A. *** The Main Event Sting, Lex Luger, Barry Windham vs. Ric Flair, Arn Andrson, and Tully Blanchard (w/JJ Dillon) ***1/2 The Great American Bash US Championship Match Dusty Rhodes vs. Barry Windham ***1/4 Chi-Town Rumble NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match Ric Flair vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat ****1/2 Wrestle War The Rock 'n' Roll Express vs. The Midnight Express ***1/4 The Great American Bash NWA United States Tag Team Championship Match the Midnight Express vs. The Southern Boys ***1/4 SuperBrawl WCW World Tag Team Championship Match The Steiner Brothers vs. Lex Luger and Sting ***3/4 , The Great American Bash WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Sting vs. Big Van Vader ***3/4 Spring Stampede WCW International World Heavyweight Championship Match Rick Rude vs. Sting *** Bash At The Beach WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan ***1/2 Nitro WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Ric Flair vs. The Giant **3/4 Clash Of The Champions XXXIII WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Dean Malenko ***1/2 Fall Brawl War Games Match Team WCW - Sting, Lex Luger, Ric Flair, and Arn Anderson vss. Team nWo - Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Fake Sting ***1/4 Souled Out Ladder Match for the United States Championship Syxx vs. Eddie Guerrero ***1/2 Uncensored No DQ Match for the US Championship Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero **** SuperBrawl VIII Cruiserweight Title vs. Mask Match Chris Jericho vs. Juventud Guerrera **** SuperBrawl VIII WCW Unified World Tag Team Championship Match The Stiener Brothers vs. The Outsiders DUD Bash At The Beach DDP and Karl Malone vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman 3/4* Halloween Havoc WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Goldberg vs. DDP **3/4 Nitro WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Booker T vs. Lance Storm *** Final Thoughts: I know there weren't too many "Amazing (4-star) Matches" But there were very few matches under 3 stars and there are really only 2 matches that you DONT need to see. In that sense, there isn't alot of crap on this show to bring it down. And, as stated before, I was satisfied with the documentary so i am giving it an 8 and my recommendation to go pick it up. *I forgot to mention in the video but in the Eddie Guerrero/Syxx Ladder Match, they also BARELY used the ladder. I think if they had a regular match it would have been much better. Also the commentating here was HILARIOUS since they had it at the first nWo PPV instead of WCW so they rooted for syxx while they made fun of Eddie.
