So I wrote the last chapter of this like 3 weeks ago, but it took that long to get the comments i wanted. but either way you may need to refresh. Try not to freak out, but i'm thinking of ending this series. I have a lot of ideas for it, but you guys don't seem as into it as Waiting to Begin Again. I haven't decided yet, but i'm thinking about it. I have a lot of twists and stuff planned, but i figured i could be spending my time focusing on what the interest is in if that makes sense. *NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. ALL CREDIT FOR THE PICTURES, VIDEOS, AND SONGS GOES TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS* So the day that I posted the last chapter of this, we had had to go to a NAACP meeting for a class. we had parked the car on the grass and there was this ditch between the parking place and the church. So you could walk around it, but I was too lazy and i was like "yeah, i can totally jump it" and i would have been good, but I didn't account for the fact that the other side was muddy instead of like hard dirt, so I kinda fell in the ditch and got my foot all wet. So yeah, that's my embarrassing story. it was pretty hilarious though. --- "I have to go to work." "What?" Mom, Blake, and I said together. We knew he had been working a lot, but we could never imagine him going to work when all of this was going on. "Dan, can't you take a sick day?" Mom begged. "Not if you wanna be able to pay for all of this." "If money's the issue, we can lend you some," Kevin Sr. offered. "I can take care of my own family thank you," Dad snapped. "Daniel, that's not what I meant..." "What? You think because your kids are all famous or whatever that you're better than me?" "Dad," Blake begged, seeing the tears brimming in my and Mom's eyes and shocked himself. "I just think your family needs you right now." "Look, you may be okay with being supported by your teenage sons, but I will not be supported by not even my own kids, but someone else's kids!" Frankie was woken by the yelling. "What's going..." he started, but Demi quickly got up, hugged him, and led him away so that he wouldn't get in the middle of all this. "Okay, listen, Daniel, I'm not saying that. I'm just..." Kevin Sr. started, standing up in front of Dad. "No, you listen. I will not take your money, and if I call in sick, I lose my job, so I have to go to work. I'll be back tonight." And with that, he stormed out. Kevin Sr. turned to Mom. "Lynne, I'm so sorry." "No, no. Thank you for trying." Denise then hugged Mom. I stood up with tears ins my eyes and walked to Mom. I sat down on her other side and hugged her. Denise let go of her so she could hug me back. We both cried, and I knew something was up with Dad, but I had no idea what it was. Soon Blake was behind us, rubbing both our backs. I couldn't help but think he was more of my dad these days than my real dad. When a nurse came out with an update, things had calmed down a little bit. Nick and I had discovered that we were able to comfort each other best, so we were sitting together. Blake had taken over with Mom. Every so often, I would make sure to check on him. I worried about Blake trying to take care of everyone else too much, to take Dad's place too much. He may not have thought I noticed, but I did, and I worried he'd take on too much and not take care of himself enough. Kevin seemed to be concerned about something similar, so he moved over to sit with him. But he still held onto Lauren's hand. The nurse who came out was named Elaine. She had been around the past year or so and had worked on my and Rebecca's cases some, so she knew to come right over to us instead of asking who was there for Joe. "How is he?" I asked quickly. "The procedure went well. We have all the marrow we need, and we should be able to start transfusing it into Rebecca shortly. Joseph is still under anesthesia, but he should be waking up anytime now. He'll just have to remain in recovery for a little. I can take 2 at a time back to see him if you would like." "Riley, would you like to go with me first?" Denise asked, standing up. "Are you sure?" I asked, looking at Kevin Sr., Nick, and Kevin. "Trust me, he'll want to see you first," Kevin Sr. said smiling. "Okay, then, yeah." I stood up and went back with Denise and Elaine. Joe was still asleep when we got there. He looked almost vulnerable in the hospital gown, lying on his back like that, and I wasn't sure I liked how that made me feel. I walked to the side of the bed and took his hand with one hand and pushed his hair out of his face with the other. "Good job, Joey," I whispered. --- sorry it's not a cliff. but will everything run as smoothly as it's looking? what's up with their dad? Comment and rate please! 20 comments if you want more. I'll see how we're doing and maybe I'll end it sooner than I had planned. question: who has been your favorite teacher and who has been your least favorite?
