Team 8: AutoServe Vehicle Anti-Theft Device Team Members: Wan Yan Chen, Hideki Kondo, William Maloney, Wai Taur, Shigang Zheng Customer: Mike Mole (IBM) When a vehicle is broken into and something is stolen, the owner of the vehicle will wonder who the perpetrator was. The common vehicle anti-theft systems today have the critical flaw of being equipped only to alert those around at the time of the threatening situation. Our system, AutoServe, aims to enhance vehicle security by using cameras to record activity at the time of the threatening situation and by alerting the owner of the vehicle of a possible break-in. AutoServe will integrate infrared motion sensors, small webcams, and a single board computer together in order to create an effective security system. The system features a video buffer which will be able to record a few minutes of video before the incident occurs. Using Wi-Fi technology, the system will be able to communicate with a pre-configured network. Upon the motion sensor being triggered, the system alerts the owner via text message. When the cameras are finished recording, the system will send the video to a Gmail server and store the video locally. For more information: Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sySEHwmJz3A
