Due to the lack of accent, light skin and lack of any other sort of obvious stereotypes, people often wonder what ethnicity I am. My husband, a tall blond named Jim, calls it dropping the M bomb when I tell people Im Mexican. And I don't want to call myself Hispanic or Latin. Maybe I should start calling myself Texican.
