On the night of February 11th, 2007, I experienced my own personal "911". The woman who I Married left me, taking (illegally) our children with her. Approximately a year before I produced this video, I stumbled upon another AMV using this Video but with a different song --- and was shocked at 2 things; first, how much the woman in the video resembled my ex-wife, and how much the video (not the audio) seemed to fit the feeling of how devestated I was upon her leaving me. Not long before, I had also run across the song "Pieces of a Dream" and felt like the lyrics & sound both captured completely the immense pain of what I was going through and my efforts to make sense out of it all as well as how hard it was to start the healing process. In a strange way, this provided a bit of comfort for me & somehow helped me to grasp that I needed to move on. Years have gone by since that devestating event, and though it is true I have forgiven my Ex long ago, I still wish I could blot out the memory of her forever. Unfortunately, like many who've gone before me, I also had to eventually come to grips with the fact that there would always be PIECES of her in my mind... like shattered shards of glass that can't be completely found and picked up but can still prick you later on long after the original mess was picked up. This video I've put together (both the video AND the audio) fully capture my feelings of a failed Marriage that I was not responsible for destroying. Though the pain of my ex subsides ever so slightly and gradually as time passes, there will unfortunately always be that hint of pain from that woman in my past. To all those out there who also have suffered through Divorce, my condolences, and my heart goes out to you. No one should ever have to go through such torment, and if people TRULY could learn to love, that is put others before themselves, Divorce would be a thing of the past. Hope you enjoy the video. -- Samuel
