On 26th November 2008, Pakistani terrorists attacked the Indian city of Mumbai. Over the next three days they killed 180 civilians... men, women and children. On 27th November, TIME magazine already had an article printed up and ready to go. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1862650,00.html That article, by Aryn Baker, justified the terrorist attack in the language of Pakistani propaganda. It was full of half-truths, unsubstantiated allegations and outright lies. It tried to divert attention from Pakistani terrorist groups and place the blame on India's Muslim citizens. I wrote a letter to TIME magazine protesting the unbelievable bad taste they had shown in printing a justification for a Pakistani terrorist attack against India, even as the attack was still in progress. I pointed out Aryn Baker's appalling bias, and complete lack of journalistic integrity, that were quite evident in her attempts to broadcast Pakistani propaganda on a range of subjects. And I did my best to defend India's Muslims from the baseless allegations, defamations and outright slander which Aryn Baker had used to portray them as traitors. Needless to say, TIME magazine did not print my letter. But guess what, TIME magazine... the days when your hatchet-people could hit and run without answering for their lies, are over. We're watching everything you print, and if you think you can escape the consequences of your propaganda by ignoring letters to the editor... the contents of those letters will get to the public one way or another.
