Re-release theatrical trailer for one of the screen's greatest special effects classics, KING KONG, starring Fay Wray, Bruce Cabot and Robert Armstrong. The visual wizardry of stop-motion special effects master Willis O'Brien, brought the prehistoric denizens of Skull Island and its monarch, a giant gorilla named Kong, to vivid life in a memorable film that has frightened, astonished and caprtivated generations of film audiences. The climactic scene of Kong perishing atop the Empire State building, is one of the screen's most iconic moments. And to think...it was all accomplished with 18" tall minature models.... The film did not receive a single Academy Award nomination, thought it was one the year's biggest grossing films. Willis O'Brien not receive any recognition for his Kong visual magic -- the Best Special Effects catergory was not created until 1939 -- but his work on 1949's MIGHTY JOE YOUNG, assisted by a young Ray Harryhausen, did corral an Oscar. To buy classic movies, serials, westerns and vintage television shows on DVD -- plus original movie posters, golden & silver age comics, celebrity autographs and collectibles, be sure to visit www.captainbijou.com.
