The plan was set, the fans were waiting to catch a glimpse and the media shutterbugs were armed with their cameras in place. Salman Khans train journey on 25th August from Bandra station was something the whole of Mumbai was looking forward to. But at the eleventh hour, the plan was cancelled, a great disappointment for the media and Salman fans. But the actor had a reason to put off the train journey. For starters, Salmans maternal grandmother (nani) was in a serious state throughout the day. Salman also went to visit her. Sadly, by the end of the day, she passed away. The actor, who was promoting his movie Wanted also felt that the risk of boarding a local train was not worth taking. He was concerned that some of his fans or the media could get seriously injured in the chaos. Salman says, The fans go crazy when they see their favourite stars and the media guys obviously are so engrossed in running after the star that they forget everything else. This is not like a person falling down from a cycle... this is a train journey and any mishap here would have been serious. Salman, who has been targeted by the media every now and then, was actually concerned about their wellbeing. The situation would have been chaotic and it would have been very hard for anyone to control it. We got a call from the station master updating us about the situation at the Bandra station and the police officials were also a little skeptical about the train journey. So we thought it was best to cancel the plan. But does that mean Salman will never think of a train journey again? I used to travel by train during my college days. Back then no one knew me. I will board a train next when no more people know who Salman Khan is..., says Salman. But with Salman Khans huge fan following, we wonder if there will ever be a time when no one will recognize him.
