Some explanations (sorry if there is some mistakes). So. 1636. It's the war between Qing dynasty (Chinese people) & Joseon dynasty (Korean people). Yesung is Jeong Myeongsu, a Korean interpreter for Qing dynasty. All his family was Joseon dynasty's servants/slaves. It seems his siblings and father get killed because of Jeoseon dynasty so Jeong Myeongsu wants to take his revenge. That's why he helps Qing dynasty to take Namhansanseong, the fortress where the King of the Joseond dynasty is hiding. And this passage is precisely when they take Namhansanseong ! Basically, the lyrics are talking about taking the fortress, killing everyone... Some extracts translated with my poor korean in a bad english (so not very accurate) : Lower and crawl, the ennemy has eyes Don't breath, the ennemy has ears Penetrate like the shadow, and set our trick Beat the neck of these starving wretchs Set the trap and tighten the knot Cut the arms & legs of these freezing wretchs Lower and crawl, finish them with a stab Don't breath, it's the ultimate battle I'll live with your blood (you = Joseon soldiers) Now that you came, draw your swords (your = Qing soldiers) Step on all the living things Stab all the fighting back things Draw your sharp spears, kill them all, slit their throat Behead all the generals (= generals of the East, West, North, South) Block all the gates (= East, West, North, South gates) Draw your sharp swords, kill them all, block down their retreat And that's all for now ^^" I'm sorry for the focus, I couldn't see what I was filming u_u... so the end... let's just stare at the beautiful sky =D;;. I stop filming when Yesung wasn't on the stage anymore. Besides, the stage was too high for filming what happens on the back. You just miss Jeong Myeongsu walking among the corpses of Joseon soldiers. My favourite part of the musical ! I love when the actors play outside of the main stage, almost touching the audience ^^. You can't see it, but the actors can't walk on the edge of the stage since there are musicians in the orchestra pit (all is live~). So it was very nice to see them walk on this small step before the stage ! .... And believe me or not, but originally I shouldn't have been able to have this great view... because my seat was in the 1st row but on the left side... but there were 3 empty seats on the middle section. It should have been a waste to no enjoy them :p. And I'm really glad of this decision because Yesung was really just before my eyes ^^.
