First part of Ancient Egyptian Suite; texts by John Virden, with musical arrangements by Chris Mayer. The words, music and imagery attempt to tap into the "ancient future," wherein the Memphis of the past stands next to the Memphis of the present, and Pharaoh is not the only King in town. John's poetry has been honored in international competition, including "The Dentistry of Ancient Egypt," which concludes the suite. This is one of the two percussion theatre works presented in the "Double-Feature" concert, Thursday, Dec 6, 2007, in the Robert Brown Theatre.
