Yesterday morning, members of Falldin American Legion Post 555 delivered apples to teachers and school supplies to students in honor of American Education Week. For 43 years, Post members have visited schools in Northeast Minneapolis and Columbia Heights, which is a nationwide effort that American legions and the National Education Association first co-sponsored in 1921 to generate public support for education.
