In 1996 Tomb Raider was released on the SONY playstation worldwide and soon grew to be one of the greatest gaming series in history. Just over 10 years later and Lara Croft is still going strong, selling over 40 million games worldwide. Tomb raider was loved and praised for its amazing graphics, intuitive controls and huge environments. Lara Croft is now one of gamings most recognizable characters. This video is a tribute to all the years that Lara has won my heart over again and again. In many of Lara's BIO's (they seem to change on nearly every release of a game) it states that Lara was born on 14th of February but the years vary from 1968 to 1969 to even 1974, meaning that with the release of Tomb Raider Underworld this year, she is aging to be around her 40's to mid 30's. What does that mean for our heroine? -a new and fourth makeover, with a new biography included to change her birthdate? -death? -time paradox? -retirement? -maybe and artifact that can make her immortal? Will Lara still be thriving in the next 10 or even 20 years? she ages in real time, so in ten years she will hit 50, in twenty years she will hit 60. Will she still be going strong? lets hop so... Below I will in order of the games release, and comments of my own personal experience with them games. Tomb Raider - Still the most amazing game in the series. 10/10 Tomb Raider II - This is probably the most memorable game in the series for me, I loved Venice and the Great wall of China, not to forget the Tibetan Foothills. 10/10 Tomb Raider III - This game was epic. it had a great story, it took longer than the rest of the games to finish, and actually, I dont think i have ever finished this game O_O.. it still wins a 10/10 for me, as the length is massive and so are the levels. Tomb Raider The Last Revelation - ah, this game. Lara gets sent back to the pyramids in egypt. it had one of the best stories in the series. 10/10 (I think nearly every tomb raider game will get a 10 :P) Tomb Raider Chronicles - To tell you the truth... The only level I truly remember from this game is the first level. Its a great game and all, with Lara's new moves, but i dont think it deserves a 10.. 8/10, simply because it was kinda scary and weird at times.. Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness - This game is EPIC, the story was magnificent, and the levels were amazing, all though Lara's duel pistols would have been nice.. and unlimited ammo on at least one pistol.. But other than that, this game definitely gets a 10/10 Tomb Raider Legend - This game is a joke to the Tomb Raider series. When you first played it, you thought "yay, a new Tomb Raider!" but then once you started to play it you realized how much had actually changed from previous games, and how short and simplified this game is. does not cut the cake for me. I despise this game now for changing the Tomb Raider series so much. Its like they were trying to make it a game adaption of the movies. I mean, they changed her once great mansion into a pathetic excuse of space on the games disk, which could have been used for MUCH bigger levels. And by the looks of the BETA game, that version looked better. at least Lara still had her braid and rocket launcher. I can say, that the only level i really enjoyed on this game was the Peru level. Mainly because it was probably the longest level in the game, and Lara looked like her old self in a part of the level. 5/10 Tomb Raider Anniversary - Even for a remake of the first one this didnt have the Tomb Raider magic. I mean, it was a great improvement from Legend, but it just didnt feel like Lara or Tomb Raider to me.. but seeing as how it was fun and longer then Legend. 8/10 Tomb Raider Underworld - If this is the direction the new Tomb Raider games are going, then the producers should keep up there work. This to me, feels ALLOT more like the classic Tomb Raiders, but just with improvements on graphics and physics. And Lara doesn't look like Michael Jackson any more.. I loved this game so much, I'm even replaying it now.. again :P, it has a great Tomb Raider feel to it, and I loved the doppelganger, that bitch is epic. easily a 10/10, but the annoying camera needed to be fixed, seeing as that caused most glitches for me. and I want to give FULL credit and thanks to: -LaraPL -pacey8444 -tartancroft I just want to thank for letting me use there gameplay footage. :) Hope you enjoyed my tribute, It was originally MUCH longer, but youtube wouldn't allow the length, so I had to cut allot out :(
