This was unloaded in November of 2008, before wet ground prevented us from hauling more. It is from our horse operation. Next to it is what remains from 2007. It will be placed into the garden before spring thaw to build up organic material in our spinach and garden and new asparagus beds. It will also make room for more manure that we will haul over before the end of January 2009. This is then stirred one to two times a month. The interior reaches temperatures in excess of 180 degrees the exterior freezes over. Both temperature extremes do a fairly good job killing off weed seeds. After 120 days its is useable for non-root soil amendment and by fall its the perfect all around amendment. We sell this by the scoop full for pick-up or delivery as well as use it on our gardens. As you can see in the video, post stirring, the manure is steaming from the heat being released and the breakdown has already started. A consumer can see the ground the raw forage material came from, the stables and horses the forage material was sent to, the pile of manure that builds up at the stables every six months, the equipment we use to haul and load it and the pile it is accumulated for its final composting. Larger scale permaculture and sustainability and 100% transparency in operation.
