-Pirates was the last attraction Walt himself had a hand in designing (disneyland version) -125 total audio-animatronics (65 pirates and villagers and 60 animals) -155,000 gallons of water -Original opened in 1967 in disneyland, the WDW version opened in 1973. -They never intended to have this ride in the Florida park as it wasn't considered exotic enough for people already living near the Caribbean. Instead the plan was to have a western themed attraction. Due to guest demand it was added 2 years after park opening as an abbreviated version of the disneyland ride. April 2009 Sony HDR-SR5 AVCHD
