This is an old record of Ayesha reading her own translation of Rilke's "Tod der Geliebten". I didn't speak German then but I wanted to know about this great German poet so she made a translation for me. Now it seems as if she was foretelling her own fate... I know the quality is very low, sorry but I tried my best with it. Ayesha's translation: He only knew of death what everybody knows. That he, when taking us away into the silence throws. But when she - not snatched off him, no - softly was removed from his eyes; when she was gliding over to the unknown shadows and when he felt that over there they now had their maiden's smile like a moon and making known their tune. Then the dead became so acquainted to him as if because of her he were related very close to each of them. He let the others talk without believing and called this other land the well placed, always sweet. And for her feet he felt it out.
