© UMG 1985 "Mad About You" is a pop rock song written by Paula Jean Brown, James Whelan and Mitchel Young Evans, produced by Michael Lloyd for Belinda Carlisle's debut solo album Belinda. It was released as the albums first single in 1986 as a CD single, 7" single and a 12" single. It was her first hit after leaving the Go-Go's. The year that the song was released, Carlisle married Morgan Mason, who appears with Belinda in the video for "Mad About You". The guitar solo on the song was performed by Andy Taylor (of Duran Duran), who also appears in the video which was directed by Leslie Libman. The song was actually a Go-Go's reunion of sorts: Paula Jean Brown (who took Jane Wiedlin's spot in the band just before it broke up) co-wrote the song and Wiedlin and Charlotte Caffey sang back-up vocals. In fact, "Mad About You" was one of several songs that was projected to be on the fourth (unrecorded) Go-Go's album that wound up on Belinda instead. At the same time you may also like to explain why the original DVD version sounded like shyte! "It's time to stop dishing out these second rate products, those days are over. We now not only have the technology to notice the obvious but we can expose it & if need be revive it! Obviously though not everyone can do the latter but they really shouldn't have to... should they? After all isn't that what the sound engineers get paid for?"
