Riding high on the festive spirits a wave of dandiya on skates sweeps through Gujarat. "Dandiya" or stick dance is a major attraction of the nine-day long Navratri festival, with people, especially young girls and boys dressed in colourful traditional attires, thronging various gatherings. This year some of the adventurous ones have caught the public's imagination by displaying the traditional dance on roller skates - and their parents are loving the new innovation.
