CHRIS ANDERSON 2008-2009 - Preparing the films "1860 SHADOWS' SPIRIT" from a novel and script by Gisèle KLIN - and WHITENIGHT VALLEY", script by KLIN/ANDERSON -- In hand a new project:"TORPES " HIS STORY in brief - Childhood in artistic environment stimulating soon his creative taste: painting, graphic design fictions' creation... From 1990 to 1999 Creation of paintings, frescos, interior decorating, scenery, Art Work Conceptuals, merchandising, etc... - Extremely keen on movies, the influence of great Directors like Tim BURTON, David FINCHER, Robert ZEMECKIS... will be a revelation throughout these years. The need to direct becomes essential, while he's confirming a personal world with the creation of fictions, and a visualisation of the picture combining imaginaiton and technique. The objective now: a feature film... 1999 The project starts to materialize with the completion of the script "Spirit of the Wood...", the story board,recce and casting. It's time now to take up the challenge: undertake and bring the shooting to a successful conclusion. But without any support in the Film Industry, or financial help. Only with an idea: manage to communicate his motivation to various Companies heads, in order to obtain their partnership... - Steps will go on for several months, with an unshakeable determination... In the end, 40 Firms and and Companies will be convinced, granting all services, equipment, etc... But without agreement or any compensation required (see web site, section "Links"). In the meantime, a professional Technical team,getting enthusiastic about this adventure, gathers round him gradually: Cameraman, Sound Engineer, Sound Designer, Mixer, Special Effects, Editor, Musicians, Assistants director, etc... who offer generously their cometences. In the end, the team will include more than 100 People (see web site "Credits and Acknowledgements"). 2000/2003 Shooting starts in 2000... C. ANDERSON and a team of 20 people (actors and technicians) go to the U.S.A. (North Carolina), and to Italy, all expenses paid. The shooting continues in France with the assistance of Municipalities, private individuals, etc... till the end in 2003. The Composer Manuel MSIHID, who wrote the original music of the film (more than 450pages), is ready. The work in studio starts, supervised by Chris who directs at the same time the closing credits' clip (MEDUSA Group), creating too the movie's posters, press files, BD, merchandising: T Shirts and various objects with movie's logos... IMPORTANT STAGES: 2001/2002 Film Festival in Cannes: giant billsticking in the Noga Hilton Hotel, teaser screenings, various exhibitions, big party in the Caesar Palace (1500 guests)... Events catch Journalists' attention (TF1, CANAL+, TPS, M6, EUROPE 2...): meetings, interviews... The incredible adventure of "Spirit of the Wood..." is revealed. The proof: a Making off (more than 20hours) recounting all the course, step by step... This unique case, unprecedented, and probably impossible to be repeated, is described as a "feat of skill". Reports are immediately proposed. But Chris considers premature such a media coverage. He's not looking for a "publicity stunt". In making this film, he just wanted to prove to the professionals that he was able to manage such an important enterprise, bring it to a successful conclusion assuming all the responsabilities from one end to the other, and that he's trustworthy. His new challenge:persuade the Producers with a large-scale project: "1860 Shadows' Spirit". A novel adaptation by Gisèle KLIN,the novelist/scriptwriter he's already working with... 2001 The turning point... Gisèle KLIN & Chris ANDERSON meet on shoot of "Spirit of the Wood...". Beginning of an important collaboration... Gisèle KLIN: When she meets Chris ANDERSON, she finished writing the adaptation from her novel and must sign an agreement with an French Producer. But she hesitates over the terms. This project is particularly clos to her heart,and she wants to participate in its development working closely with the director... Immediately, with Chris, they're on the same wavelength: ideas, imagination, movies, team's work concept, quickness of mind.. Within few hours, collaboration is decided by common consent.
