Kent Pietsch Interstate Cadet 2009 NAS Oceana Airshow Naval Air Station Oceana Virginia Beach, Virginia Saturday October 17, 2009 IN THIS VIDEO, Kent Pietsch flies a short aerobatic performance in the Interstate Cadet prior to shutting off the engine at 1,000 feet and performing a deadstick routine. The end result of the performance is to put the spinner of the prop in the hands of airshow announcer Rob Reider. Because of the winds, Kent was unable to do it with the airplane but was still able to put the spinner in Rob's hands by a different method. I later learned that in the over twenty year airshow career of Kent Pietsch, this is the first time he was unable to do so. On Sunday's show, he did fly (again, no video) the deadstick routine and came within three feet of Rob. I apologize for any bad color and/or vertical lines that may or may not be in this video. Once again, I have had some camera trouble throughout the weekend. It was also very windy, but I think I did well with the camera concerning the fact that it was, for the most part, cold, rainy, and windy for the entire weekend. If you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take the time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
