Eastman Gamelan Lila Muni Monday April 27, 2009 Kilbourn Hall Eastman School of Music Rochester, NY Gilak (Procession) This processional is derived from a traditional Balinese form, called "baleganjur". In Bali, it would be performed on religious holidays, at temples, cremations, and other public events. Drummers: Jordan Hayes, Masha Ryskin *I tried to be cool and film the procession from just outside Kilbourn Hall so you could see the ensemble as they walked onto the stage (which is more interesting than staring at an empty stage for 3 minutes) -- so I apologize for any "motion sickness" when I start walking up the steps to get an aerial view and find my seat...
