Let's Speak Korean 01 Some advice before you start is to LEARN THE KOREAN ALPHABET (한글/Hangul) BEFORE YOU BEGIN!. This show assumes you know Hangul already and I suggest you learn Hangul as well, because with Korean it can sometimes be nearly impossible to pronounce words correctly when you rely on the English transliterations alone, there are so many different ways people type Hangul in English and no standard that you'll often find yourself looking at something you wrote or something someone else wrote for the same word and be completely confused how to pronounce it, or worse, reinforce bad pronunciation (i know because it happened to me way back when i started). Using Hangul there IS a standard, and there IS a right and wrong way to write/say the words. Honestly, Hangul is unique in itself and should really be treated as such. Learn it first and then from there learn the language. You will be able to pronounce out anything you see in Korean and after that it will just be a matter of getting exposure to correct pronunciation and how each letter sounds in different word combinations. If you do this rather than sticking to the English transliterations, it will not only speed up your Korean language learning but also your Korean reading ability as well. btw, Despite any shortcoming of the hosts or the guest students, this series is really great for learning Korean. A lot of crucial Korean language info in here. . .take the time to go through and review these (its why i uploaded them!), you won't be let down. . .I wasn't~
