The Carolina Panthers visit the Philadelphia Eagles for a preseason game on Thursday with the Eagles a 3-point favorite. I have a hot trend here for this one. Philadelphia is 9-0 ATS in week 2 of the preseason as head coach Andy Reid has done a good job of improving his teams' play after their first preseason game. Donovan McNabb looked like he got his mobility back in the game against Pittsburgh last week as he was doing a great job of eluding the Steelers pass rush in week 1 of the preseason. Behind McNabb is AJ Feely who has experience and 2nd year gunslinger Kevin Kolb who the Eagles are hoping can be their quarterback of the future when McNabb retires. Carolina is banged up as 5 defensive starters didn't play last week and Steve Smith suffered a concussion and missed practice on Monday and is listed as day to day. Last week against Pittsburgh the Eagle defense was about as vanilla as you will ever see them under Jim Johnson as defensive coordinator. But not this week. Take Philadelphia --3.
