Sunset Flash_Sunrise Drum & Bass + Elektrostep. Sunset Flash is a natural light phenomenon generated from the ever last rays of light before the sun sets on the horizon. Sunset Flash started back in the summer of 1994 at the sunny touristic resort of The Algarve, in the South of Portugal. It comes out as an alternative to the tribal house dominated sound scene of the Portuguese clubs. It started as a live act of 6 elements, feat. the well known radio & events producer EP on the synths, Johnny on the mic, Miguel and Amorinho dancing breakbreat steps and two more dancer girls. The first live act happened back in 1996 before a crowd of thousands, at the famous live festivities of the University of the Algarve. Sunset Flash gained fast recognition, through radio and media, as well as having their main DJ playing around the Portugal, Spain and UK in major clubs and festivals. From Carl Cox, John Digweed and Roger Sanchez to DJ Hype, Goldie and The Prodigy: all shared the same stage with Sunset Flash. In 1999 it was released the first single "Atmospherica" on Portuguese recording label Promusica. It was a cleancut drum & bass track with ambient sounds and spaced melodies, a real breakthrough for the new millenium waves approaching. Sunset Flash was a awarded the production of radio shows, events and founded its' own producing company delVicious, along good friends Miguel and Gil. After producing such events as MTV live and Euro 2004 in Portugal, Sunset Flash moved to Prague, Czech Republic, playing and living the underground scene along witn Trava, Brian, Bon Finix and others. Success brough Sunset Flash to Germany to play at the Love Parade 2008 in Dortmund alonside Moby, Dubfire and Underworld. In 2008 it was released the demo for tracks "Sunrise" and remixes for "Santa Barbara" with the alter ego EP and special participation of Telmo (vocals) and legendary Argentinian conga player Chango, who now lives in Madrid and perfoms instrumental for artists such as Paco de Lucia. Sunset Flash moved to South East Europe's new ground breaking destination in 2009: Bucharest. From here, as well as through Mamaia resort, Chisinau and Sofia, his sound has evolved along with the local elektro scene, bringing up new demo releases such as "The one I love" with vocals by Romanian pop singer Adriana Rusu and EP himself. "Rahova Streets", on the other hand, it's an anthem to one of Bucharest's most urban neighbourhoods who brings down the crowd in apotheosis whenever the awesome Korg Wavestation algorythmic sounds develop living electronic textures. The live act has evolved into a show of break bit sounds, string basslines, dense electronic textures and sunset flash lights.
