June 30, 2009 Farrah Fawcett Laid To Rest It was a grand and moving sendoff for Farrah Fawcett, who died after her long battle with cancer last week. Hollywood stars, and Farrah's family gathered in a Los Angeles cathedral on Tuesday to pay tribute to Charlie Angel's actress Farrah Fawcett, who died of cancer last week. Ryan O'Neal, 68, was seen weeping as he lifted Farrah's dark brown casket covered in orange and yellow flowers while surrounded by police. The star-studded service came just five days after the 62-year-old lost her long battle against cancer. Redmond O'Neal, 24, was given special permission to leave jail - where he has been serving time for drug charges - to attend the funeral in the presence of two police deputies and a sergeant. Redmond, who was allowed to visit his mother at her bedside before she died, read Lamentations 3: 17 - 26 from the Bible, while his father read Wisdom 3: 1- 9. Representing Farrah's most popular TV show Charlie's Angels was her former co-star Kate Jackson, who looked sombre in a black dress and sunglasses as she entered the cathedral. Farrah's ex-husband, Lee Majors, Ernie Hudson, romance novelist Jackie Collins and sister Joan Collins also attended. Rest in peace Farrah.
