After refusing and stalling on deals with Blockbuster, Golden Gate Capital, Grupo Elektra, etc... Circuit City forces itself into chapter 7 after caving in to pressure from its creditors. As a result, more than 30,000 people who worked for the nation's 2nd largest electronics retailer will be jobless. To capture some realism, this video also includes the scene at my local Circuit City Store here in Pennsylvania, on the day before the liquidation sales are to officially begin. I shot the video at 17:00 sharp on 01/16/09.
