The public has been lied to about what happened to Kelsey Smith-Briggs aka Kelsey Briggs. Kelsey's father married a teenage girl who called herself "Kelsey's mom" even after Kelsey's death. Kelsey's paternal grandmother, wanted to take Kelsey from her real mom, Raye Dawn Smith, and give her to Lance and and his teenage bride. Abuse allegations started after the paternity test and Lance found out he was Kelsey's father and the Briggs family met her. On February 12, 2003 at 5:00pm Lance called Raye Dawn: "Lance called yelling at me telling me "it" (Kelsey) will have his last name so I might as well get use to it. He got mad at me when I told him to just call my lawyer and he said, "You f**king wait and see." Briggs was soon added as a hyphen to Kelsey's birth name, Smith. Those on here who call Kelsey "Kelsey Briggs" are dishonoring her. That was never her name. During Kelsey's final nine months the Briggs made good on their threats to wage a battle for custody. After Kelsey's collarbone was broken in January after an accidental fall from her bed, the Briggs "found" bruises on Kelsey's bottom after they had her for over four hours. They took Kelsey to the emergency room and called DHS and reported the "abuse" and said that Raye Dawn had done it. You'll notice in these videos the paternal family's abuse pictures. Her paternal grandmother is a photographer and took numerous pictures of the same injury. Those pictures have been scattered throughout the internet to appear as nine months of a beaten and broken child. That's not true. Please go to www.thetruthaboutkelsey.com for the facts.
