It has been emphasised that media reports on the sale of cartridges of the ammunition used by the troops are totally false. It had been reported that these cartridges were to be sold at a low price to a foreign company. Military Spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara said it had been reported that the Defence Ministry was attempting to sell 41,000 brass cartridges to Singapore at 150 rupees each, when it can be sold in Sri Lanka at 350 rupees. This report is baseless. The Military Spokesman pointed out that the Defence Ministry was not mulling over selling any cartridges.
