I have heard that Bruno Klaus was the inventor of the pit. If so he deserves a medal for all the injuries he's prevented. The pit changed gymnastics for ever.

I have always been a big believer in spotting skills that I think are risky for gymnasts. I think this is one time that my instinct to spot was a good one.

One of my favorite sports to watch. Acro gymnastics would be a bigger sport but I think its so hard which is why it hasn't caught on.
