この曲は、梅木マリが唯一リリースした10インチLP・「可愛いグッド・ラック・チャーム」(東芝音工 JPO－1235) A面第4曲目に収録されている曲であり、シングル曲としては発売されていません。 1960年代前半のいわゆる「ジャパニーズ・カバーポップス黄金時代」に活躍した歌手の中で、梅木マリはぼくが最も好きな歌手のひとりなのですが、彼女の曲のなかでも、この「モナ・ムール」は不動のマイベストフェバリットです。 ぼくは以前、このことをあるウェブサイトに書きましたが、あれから9年たった今も、あのときの気持ちとほとんど変わりはありません。 梅木マリの歌唱が持つ格調の高さ、上品さ、少女らしい清楚さ、凛々しさ、ローティーンの少女とは思えないほどの力強さと、曲の進行とともに高まりゆくパッション。そして、曲そのものに彼女が抱いているであろうシンパシーの自然で率直な表現の見事さ。この曲は、最も彼女らしい曲なのではないかと思います。 [Reference] ...
